With sunny weather all year and warmer temperatures, the French Mediterranean coast has all the ideal ingredients for high quality Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Rosé grapes. The mountain ranges provide ideal slopes and sheltered valleys, with warm days and cool evenings. The Mediterranean breezes and the Mistral wind from the Alps, clear the skies of pests. And with the 3-hour TGV train or 1-hour flight from Paris, it is also a perfect pied-a-terre to visit the region and enjoy its culture, gastronomy and traditions.
The south of France has 2,600 year-old winemaking heritage. Ever since the Phocaeans brought grape varieties to Provence in the 6th century BC, the south of France has been home to many Rosé producers. Today most estates have been in the same families for generations or belong to major corporations or celebrities. There are a lot of winegrowers approaching retirement and the new generation does not always have the required capital to takeover this tradition. Grand winery's project is to help maintaining the ecosystem by working with talented winemakers ready to pursue their art, producing wine directly for the vine co-owners.
